Quality Supervisor

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Paarl, is looking to employ a Quality Supervisor to join their team.

The purpose of this position will be:

• Quality control.
• Quality assurance.
• Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process control:

• Implement process controls and measurements.
• All requisite quality documentation to be filed accordingly.
• To stop processes as required to maintain quality standards.
• To exercise fit-for-purpose procedure or scrap non-conforming parts as necessary.
• Recommend changes to procedures, working documents and forms.

2. Quality Management System:

• Ensure current approved documentation is in circulation and that obsolete documents are removed.
• Compile and maintain SOPs, PFDs and PFMEA’s.
• Filing and records: Ensure adherence to process controls, procedures and working documents with support of relevant supervisors.
• Perform QMS awareness training as needed.
• Recommend improvements to Quality Management System.

3. Human Resources:

• Develop internal audit schedule and perform audits accordingly.
• Maintain timesheets.
• Plan capacity to support production.
• Maintain levels of quality employees’ performance required to meet customer specifications and delivery lead time.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

• Grade 12 – Senior Certificate with Mathematics and with Science as an advantage.
• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Production Management / Industrial Engineering / Quality.
• At least two years’ experience in a production environment with strong emphasis on quality.
• Good understanding of, and ability to implement quality control and quantitative methods in the production environment.
• Analytical ability to interpret and translate data and findings into a meaningful result.
• Ability to read and understand moderately complex engineering drawings.
• Be proficient with MS Office suite.
• Be assertive and have strong interpersonal skills.
• Be able to work independently and exercise lateral thinking.
• Be able to work accurately and prioritize under pressure.

Area: Paarl area.

Starting date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Market related salary.
