Our client based in Gqeberha, within the automotive industry, seeks to employ a Quality Inspector to join their operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:
  • Ensure adherence to the company's rules and regulations as documented in the company's disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety practices and procedures as defined during induction and other health & safety training.
  • Ensure that all quality data collected is accurate and in line with the inspection standards.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, equipment and other measuring tools are in working order and in their proper storage after usage.
  • Be an active participant in the 5S (sort, sweep, shift, standardize, sustain) process to identify and eliminate
    waste in order to continually improve workplace organization.
  • Work to provided SOPs & process improvements every cycle during the inspection method to have a standardized process.
  • Ensure daily checks are done and to notify the Quality Technician if any equipment or machines are out of
    calibration and not in safe working conditions including test line equipment.
  • Check back-up equipment on a regular basis to ensure it is in and acceptable working condition and within the calibration period.
  • Notify the Quality Technician of any out-of-standard and non-compliance identified.
  • Perform audits and inspections as specified for each operation/work station to ensure that quality standards
    are maintained.
  • Monitor all breakpoints/ batch numbers on issues that were previously highlighted during the inspection of
    parts and processes.
  • Monitor tools daily for proper setup including calibration of tools before the use thereof.
  • Ensure tool specifications are maintained whilst in use and that no unauthorized modifications to the originality thereof.
  • Report all safety related concerns that may potentially hinder the inspection of the parts or processes to the
    Quality Technician or alternatively the Quality and Technical Manager immediately.
  • Report all "out of standard" or non-compliance to the Quality Technician.
  • Participate in problem-solving process in identify root cause and implementation of containment & corrective
    action processes.
  • Perform periodic checks during the shift as required.
  • Inform the Assembly Supervisor about any abnormalities or potential problems/bottlenecks which may hinder production flow.
  • Identify waste elimination in quality, scrap, stock reduction, energy, safety, equipment, material, space savings, process efficiency and so forth.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process activities as required.
  • Maximize value-added cycle time on each process with online inspection, test line, PDI pit, road test, final sign off.
  • Adhoc function which may fall in the ambit of the job requirements.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Quality Certification
  • Code 14 License
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic
