POSITION INFO:

Duties:

- MANAGE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: 

Facilitate conflict resolution - Hold 1st stage grievance hearings.

Initiate disciplinary hearings and investigate alleged misconduct transgressions (per intent tracker).

Hold sick absence counselling’s per company policy.

- MANAGE AREA COMMUNICATIONS/FACILITATE TEAM COMMUNICATION SESSIONS:

Conduct team meetings with quality personnel in area of responsibility (i.e. inspectors and technicians).

- ATTEND MEETINGS AS QUALITY REPRESENTATIVE:

Attend weekly 8D, Ops and OEE meetings.

Participate therein and action issues arising therefrom.

- ENSURE COMPLIANCE, BOTH REGULATORY AND STATUTORY: (Safety, environmental, occupational health, ergonomics and quality)

Communicate policies and any legislative changes and ensure implementation at a departmental level.

Escalate areas of concern and/or areas for improvement.

Conduct self-audits and close out all non-conformances.

Apply all systems and laws applicable to your area of operation.

- MANAGE PERFORMANCE: (Self and subordinates)

Plan and approve shifts and overtime.

Track attendance and action all absences.

Implement job outputs per function.

Manage and assess individual and team performance.

Manage KPI’s (QCDSM).

Manage skills matrix and communicate training needs in area of responsibility.

Initiate recruitment of new and replacement team members.

Coach team members.

- MANAGE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS:

Understand and analyse all problems and complaints received.

Problem solve making use of the appropriate tools per customer requirement.

Resolve issues.

Give feedback to customers both internal and external.

Implement corrective actions.

Close out issues.

- MANAGE, PERFORM AND ACTION ALL QUALITY RELATED PROCESSES:

Customer 8d Process.

Deviations both customer-external and internal, including reviewing and actioning up to close out of identified issues.

Attend to customer - claims, RFC’s, credit notes etc.

- CARRY OUT QUALITY PROCESSES:

Amongst others: APQP, Flow diagrams, FMEA’s and CP’s.

Generate and maintain all documentation, track, closeout and file.

- MANAGE QUALITY RESOURCES:

Quality work areas including Master sample room and gauge room. Control consumable budget for the area.

- COMPLETION OF QUALITY RELATED DOCUMENTATION:

8D Register.

Customer claims register and related documentation.

RFC’s.

Credit notes.

Weekly timesheets.

Compilation of shift and overtime schedules.

Requirements:

- Related tertiary qualification e.g. Recognized Quality diploma/certificate/degree at a minimum of NQF5 level.

- City and Guilds/Trade Qualification (preferable preceded by a senior Certificate/ Gr 12/Matric level numeracy and literacy (Maths and English).

- Valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license is essential.

- Highly advantageous is your knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably as relates to pressed metal technologies and processes.

- Essential is proven supervisory and organisational skills, i.e. the ability to organise both equipment and personnel to achieve results in an area.

- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the application of quality tools and systems e.g. Core tools, IATF 16949, SPC, root cause analysis, problem solving, APQP, trend analysis and fine measuring equipment.
