Quality Control Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client is one of the largest mid-tier accounting firms in South Africa, providing multi-disciplinary auditing, accounting, and business advisory services. The member firms have over 70 partners and directors, and over 950 staff to provide clients with focused, quality personalized service and support at a director level.

POSITION INFO:

Assist the Quality control partner with a list of duties getting into all the technical aspects of the audit function internallyAssisting Quality Control partner with:

• ISQM implementation
• Monitoring of professional standards manual compliance including network compliance reporting
• IRBA reporting
• IRBA & Network firm reviews

Delivering inputs on technical guidance papers and related initiatives

Participation in the firm’s ISQC 1 process for high-risk engagements

Update of standard working papers and related templates

Firm technical session preparation

Assisting Firm Training and Development Officer with:

• Development of First year induction and training
• Manager induction
• Training material and presentation as requested
• Core course training/acting as tutor on core courses
• Assisting with VAC week programme when necessary

Technical assistance to audit teams

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2 – 3 years post article experience

Microsoft Office, CaseWare, Pastel

Microsoft Outlook

Working knowledge of ISQC1 (and in due course ISQM 1 & 2) and the IRBA Code

Expert knowledge of the ISAs

Expert knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SME

A passion for all things technical

Be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Impeccable attention to detail

Able to present technical material at a senior level

Qualifications:

Registered CA (SA)
