SUMMARY:
An industry leader in the mechanical manufacturing sector, based in the NORTH WEST PROVINCE and within the Potchefstroom area, is recruiting for an experienced and skilled Quality Control Manager
POSITION INFO:
Experience
The successful incumbent must possess at least five years of relevant experience in engineering.
Formal qualifications
- Grade 12 (a technical qualification would be beneficial)
- Higher Certificate or Diploma in quality control / metrology
- Valid driving license code 08
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Package)
- Competency regarding computer-aided design (CAD) would be advantageous
- A valid medical certificate certifying the incumbent’s fitness status to work in a mechanical environment
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that products meet certain thresholds of acceptability which are free from defects and in accordance with client expectations
- Formulating quality control policies
- Planning and coordinating quality assurance programs
- Applying statistical process control
- Monitoring and controlling quality by tracking production metrics
- Recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process
- Inspecting, testing and measuring materials /components being manufactured
- Ensuring particular quality targets are achieved
- Manage subordinates of moderate complexity
- Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area / section of responsibility
