SUMMARY:
An opportunity for a Qualified Diesel Mechanic, who is highly motivated and results-driven has just opened up. A Trade Certificate is essential with a minimum of 10 years' experience in opencast mining/construction/earthworks or similar industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be qualified and hold a Trade Certificate: Diesel Mechanic/Earth Moving Mechanic.
At least 10 years of experience in a similar environment (opencast mining/construction/earthworks) specialising in heavy earthmoving equipment, but not limited to Caterpillar, Volvo and BELL.
Valid contactable references must be made available.

DUTIES:
(Will include but are not limited to the following areas)

To ensure that all the relevant pre-start checklists are carried out by the relevant operator on a daily basis.
Ensure that the relevant maintenance procedures are adhered to.
Monitoring of equipment availabilities on a daily basis.
Carry out relevant services on the respective plant items.
Diagnose problems from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
Minimise plant downtime and treat downtime with a sense of urgency.
Ensuring that the Company’s preventative maintenance systems are adhered to.
Fault finding and repairs of machines.
