Qualified Boilermaker - Johannesburg Gauteng
Salary: R180 per hour, Negotiable, Permanent
Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Qualified Boilermaker for a permanent position based in Boksburg, Johannesburg Gauteng. The ideal candidate would be from the Structural Steel sector, Mining or other Heavy-Duty Machinery Manufacturing Equipment sector. The boilermaker is responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials before handover to the other artisan team members, welders etc. Operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted within the quality, health and safety requirements of the company.

• Matric (Standard 10) or recognized equivalent qualification
• Relevant Trade Test Certification – Boilermaker / Welder
- 3-5 Years Experience in Structural Steel, Heavy Duty Manufacturing
• Located in Boksburg / Surrounds Gauteng
• Experienced using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc).
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc).
• Be prepared to work overtime.
• Be prepared to use their initiative and be able to complete tasks successfully and expeditiously with minimum supervision.
• Able to demonstrate good communication skills and be fully literate in English.
• Be a strong team player and have a passion to learn new things
Skills And Knowledge:
ü Must be able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
ü Must have an interest in repairing and building production machinery.
ü Physical strength and stamina.
ü Good eye hand coordination.
ü Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
ü Pay attention to details

Safety
ü Safety is extremely important and the employee will be responsible for:
ü Following all the company’s safety rules and policies.
ü Wearing safety equipment and PPE.
ü Reporting all dangerous or unsafe behavior to the supervisor or the manager.
ü Never to engage in any unsafe act.
Duties:
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layouts and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws, gas cutting equipment to match measurements).
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Align components using calipers, rules etc. and clamp pieces.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Relationships: Factory Management, Safety and Quality Coordinator, Maintenance personnel and operators
