QHSE Officer Logistics

SUMMARY:

Our client in the logistics industry is looking for a QHSE Officer to join their team in Boksburg, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Position: QHSE Officer Logistics

Salary: R 30,000.00+ (Negotiable depending on experience)

Scope:
Ensuring that all QHSE requirements, standards, compliance, and legal regulations are implemented and maintained, per site, as per your defined responsibilities and in accordance with the OHS Act 85 of 1993, and as well as HO standards and requirements. Assist with continual improvement in the areas as identified and or as requested by the QHSE Manager or HO.
 
Main Objectives:

• Conduct evacuation drills whenever required, and ensure reports are completed and filed
• Perform a high level of first aid treatment and evaluate injured persons and if required ensure they are sent for medical treatment at a hospital or clinic with the WCA forms
• Co-ordinate and follow up with current HSE Committee members for HSE meetings and appropriate reporting, minutes to be forwarded to all members and QHSE Manager. Follow up on any items requiring action before the next meeting. File records
• Ensure that member understands their responsibilities during their term as a nominated HSE employee where necessary
• Attend any planning and or other client meeting/requirements as deemed necessary
• Promote a positive Company image during the course and scope of the performance of these duties
• Assist the QHSE Manager with any other administrative duties as and when required
• Ability to use management concepts and principles including goal setting, planning and execution, corrective actions, and risk management as and when required or deemed necessary
• Conduct and or assist with conducting substance abuse testing as and when required
• Conduct and or assist with risk assessments, analysis and or reporting, as and when required
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable and as assigned by the QHSE Manager

• A detailed description of the Tasks and Responsibilities will be shared with potential candidates.

• Matric Certificate
• SAMTRAC or Health and Safety Diploma
• Advanced Excel/Word
• First Aid Level 1-3 advantageous
• Fire Fighting Level 1 advantageous
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in a similar environment
• Ability to conduct independent inspections and audits to meet all safety regulations
• Proficient in written and spoken English with excellent report writing skills
• Excellent administration skills required
