Location: New Germany, KZN
Job Description:
Plan, manage, and optimize quality activities to ensure products and services meets customer specific requirements. Expedite investigations and improvements relating to quality & productivity
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification related to quality assurance & management
- Welding related qualification
- Quality experience within a Production environment along with experience in a project environment will be advantageous
- 7 Years in a quality/welding environment
- 5 years of conducting measurements on welded/ fabricated products
- 3 years in a supervisory/ management role
- Prior quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
- ISO 9001 Quality Management compliance training
- Internal auditing
- Supervisory/ Management training advantageous
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 3834 practices within a quality control environment
Responsibilities:- Assist workshop staff on quality issues and communicate quality control information to all relevant departments
- Manage all Non Conformance queries & investigations
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Manage outsourced inspection activities like Dye pen, MPI, X-Ray, AIA & Pressure Testing
- Prepare Quality Control plans
- Manage sample making approval process (ISIR process)
- Internal & supplier audits
- Ensure all quality records are maintained for traceability
- Ensure quality assurance is built in the process
- Conduct measurements using various measuring instruments
- Train employees on quality control
- Inspection equipment calibration & control
- Defect outflow investigation
- Jig/ Fixture control
- Review job requirements based on product design and contractual requirements
- Technical reviews
- Daily planning for inspection & testing
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce quality assurance systems
- Train & ensure competency of employees with regards to quality
- Ensure that all inspection tasks are performed
- Liaise with designer, client and other stakeholders to maximize quality
- Provide root cause analysis and execute corrective action plans
- Prepare clear and concise reports
- Manage the performance of all quality equipment
- Create work instructions/ standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems
- Project management
- Continuous improvement
- Manage KPA’s of subordinates
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Ensure productivity targets are met/ Assist with expediting work
