QC Inspector

SUMMARY:
An established manufacturer is in search of a qualified QC Inspector with Cast Iron experience to perform inspections and tests on raw materials, in process and/or finished products, and generate quality control documentation and reports. This role will also involve external inspections;(Kempton Park)

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct product inspections as per departmental procedure and specifications and client requirements. Will include supplier interaction
• Conduct relevant testing and check measuring and testing equipment to comply with specifications
• Monitor production process daily and investigate non-conformances and communicate findings to the relevant personnel
• Attend weekly progress meetings and log incidents and innovations on Sheqsys as they arise
• Measure supplier rework and scrap monthly as per standard requirements and use PPE as required by legislation
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements as well as sound corporate
• Governance
• Compile and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) as per client request and ensure product release
• Documents are compiled and submitted on time
• Internal and external audits are carried out as required
• Compile incident reports and send to the relevant personnel and compile and update Data Books and Quality Control Plans when necessary
• Ensure products are evaluated according to quality standards and customer requirements, that records are filed electronically and manually and registers updated and maintained as per departmental procedure
• Compile and submit monthly reports on time

Requirements:

• Displays understanding of QC processes and standards, as well as an understanding of the products that are inspected
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Safety awareness and Quality orientation
• Customer focus
• Initiating action and contributing to Team success

Qualification:

• Grade 12
• Qualified Artisan/Quality Control related qualification advantageous
• 3 years’ relevant experience
