SUMMARY:
My client is looking to employ a QA/QC Assistant. The client is based in the Lephalale area.
POSITION INFO:
Job Title: QA/QC Assistant
Location: Lephalale
Remuneration: CTC R37 800
Note: The Blasting Assistant, Competent A, and Blasting Certificate must all be specific to opencast mining.
Roles and Responsibilities of QA/QC Personnel:
QA/QC team members will be responsible for the following activities:
Adhering to all safety protocols and complying with the Client's way of work.
- Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings prior to the start of daily operations.
- Completing pre-use checklists and Mini-HIRA assessments.
- Measuring all active drilling blocks and accurately recording the data using Blast Logic tablets.
- Backfilling over-drilled holes and capturing final backfill measurements.
- Clearly marking short-drilled holes with spray paint for easy identification.
- Ensuring proper charging, handling, and safekeeping of Blast Logic tablets.
- Performing regular inspections on all active drilled blocks.
- Conducting quality control measurements to validate the functionality and accuracy of the Blast Logic blast design software.
- Collaborating with operational teams to enhance and maintain quality management systems.
- Preparing and submitting reports on findings and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
- Analyzing and simulating blast results prior to execution, and reporting outcomes to the Drill and Blast team.
- Working strictly on a day shift schedule.
