QA Engineer required for a growing start-up company in Edinburgh.
The company are looking for a QA Engineer who can be a champion for testing across the business. Initially, you''ll will be reviewing a testing function in its infancy and looking to build on what already exists, if possible (it might not be!), before building out both the manual and automated testing. Automation-wise, you''ll need to be able to create an automated testing function from scratch, ideally using Cucumber or Capybara (although these are not essential).
As the sole QA Engineer, you''ll have autonomy and major influence over the testing function, so you''ll get to implement things the way you think is best (within reason!). Because of that, you''ll need to be a confident communicator, working closely with the other members of the technical team to work through any changes or developments you bring to the testing function.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Experience developing best practices and processes for testing, including documentation
**Automation testing experience, setting up an automation test framework from scratch
**API testing (ideally Postman)
**Experience with CI/CD pipelines
**Regression testing
**Writing acceptance criteria
Nice to have:
**Experience as a sole Tester
**Experience in a start-up environment
With significant growth plans for the next year or so, the technical team is only going to increase. Testing will need to further develop as the products do, and with the introduction of machine learning and AI, there will be lots of things that are slightly different from the norm to get stuck into (which means further professional growth!).
The company are based in the city centre of Edinburgh and are keen to have folk back in the office when it is safe to do so, but are looking to operate with a hybrid model of office and homeworking.
The salary on offer is between £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience with the company also offering flexible working, a relaxed dress code, monthly perks and share options.
