SUMMARY:
QA Engineer for a team in Nottingham who need their first Tester!
POSITION INFO:
A leading eCommerce brand in the UK and Europe are looking to bring on board a dedicated QA Engineer (their first!).
This company has headquarters in Nottingham and is a company whose services you (or someone you know) have most likely used at one point or another without realising.
Their core product has been developed and supported in their Nottingham office. Up until now, testing has been predominantly handled by the Developers, but due to growth and expansion the team are keen to bring in a dedicated QA Engineer to develop the testing function and be the point of contact for testing and quality assurance.
You''ll have experience within software testing (ideally across system and functional testing) and will ideally come from an environment where you contributed significantly to developing best practices and processes for the software testing function, and ensuring the wider team are also on board.
It''s a cool opportunity to be able to develop testing processes in a growing company - you''ll have a lot of influence to implement what you think will work best, and put in place a stable testing function that can scale with potential to bring on board more Testers long-term. There is also potential to develop automated testing once the testing function is more established so that might be something you are really interested in!
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
*Experience as a solo Tester
*Experience developing a testing function - putting in place best processes and practices, strategy etc.
*Testing mobile and web-based applications
*Functional and system testing
*Also managing incoming bugs - communicating with who raised the issue to ensure it can be replicated
*API testing would be a bonus
*Automated testing would be a bonus (JavaScript, C#)
Everyone is currently working remotely due to the pandemic but the team value collaboration and would ideally like to return to their city centre Nottingham office when able to. The office is easy to get to for those in the surrounding area.
The salary on offer is between £30,000 - £40,000, plus benefits.
