POSITION INFO:
QA Automation Engineer (the first in the company) required for a tech for good company in Edinburgh (can be fully remote).
This company are at a crucial stage of growth, and with some investment and large-scale clients signed up to their product, they are keen to develop the technical team further. The company and their product are part of the ''tech for good'' sector, and offer the opportunity for you to get involved in a company that is genuinely helping the planet!
Currently the team consists of mostly Developers and the team are ready to bring on board their first QA Engineer, to help them build a strong and scalable testing function. You''ll be developing best practices and processes from scratch - so it''s a rare opportunity to influence and shape the testing function in a very modern environment as you see fit!
Day-to-day you will be focusing on an automation first strategy, using JavaScript frameworks (such as Jest and Cypress) to develop the automation testing. There is a big focus on the company on developing CI/CD pipelines, and you will also be involved in this (from a testing perspective of course!), using the likes of Jenkins and Gitlab-CI.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Experience with cloud platforms (ideally AWS)
**Automation testing across the front and back-end
**API testing
**CI/CD pipelines
**An interest in DevOps practices
**Experience with JavaScript for creating automation test frameworks such as Cypress and Jest
**Ideally some experience with Python as well
The company have an office in Edinburgh, and are keen that people are fairly local to the area (so they can meet up on occasion) but the role can be fully remote (as long as you are UK based), and if you are further afield but still interested, please do apply!
Salary wise, the company can offer up to £60,000 plus benefits.
