Secure your future with this JSE-listed Group of companies based in Cape Town looking for a Purchasing Officer to join their fast-paced environment to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Matric
Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics Management
3-5 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment
CIPS or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification

Job description

Purchasing Management
Ensure compliance to company guidelines, BBBEE strategy, industry legislation, purchasing policies and procedures
Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
Prepare reports and updates as and when required
Negotiate quotations to improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
