POSITION INFO:

Purchasing Officer

Location: Lenasia

Salary R15 000 – R20 000CTC

Nature of appointment: Temp to perm

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience as materials manager 
• Experience in shipping and receiving 
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems 
• Understanding of forecasting and budgeting 
• Proficient in MS Office 
• ERP System experience 

• Supply chain management qualification (BCom) required 
• 5 years’ experience in procurement

• Experience in consequence management 

Duties:

• Manage all raw materials and conduct inventory audits, and supervise purchasing to balance material shortage/surplus.
• Maintain compliance guidelines
• Review shipment accuracy and logistics billings.
• Collaborating with other managers to determine supply needs
• Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications 
• Coordinating and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
• Oversee distribution of supplies in the organization
• Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies 
• Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates 
• Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers 
• Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc. 
• Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
• Processing invoice 
• Updating and maintain supplier list 
• Maintaining storage of materials 
• Assisting with projects as delegated by senior management
• Attending to purchase order requests
• Liaising with suppliers 
• Supplier negotiating (Payment terms, Settlement discounts and credit terms)
• Supplier sourcing
• Ensuring raw materials are received timeously 
• Negotiating service level agreements/ contracts 
• Preparing budgets, cost analyses and reports.
• Receiving of goods 
• Maintaining and negotiating supplier rebates
