SUMMARY:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent post in the Student Affairs Division to be based in Alice and East London

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
  • Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
  • 3 years working experience as a psychologist
  • 1 year experience working in higher education sector
  • Valid Driver’s license
COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HPCSA regulations and Ethical guidelines
  • Communication skills and Interpersonal skills
  • Psychotherapeutic skills
  • Training and facilitation
  • Supervision skills
  • Problem Solving/Decision-making/Analytical thinking
  • Planning & organization / time management
 DUTIES:
  • Provide Individual Psychotherapy and counselling to UFH students
  • Individual and Group interventions in Residence
  • Conduct Debriefing and Crisis interventions to manage trauma
  • Provide individual or group supervision to intern psychologists and social work interns
  • Supervision of intern psychologists’ Community interventions
  • Monitoring and evaluating intern psychologists and social worker interns
  • Facilitation of the Residence Talk programs
  • Training for Student cohorts e.g. TLC, Social Work Department, Health Science students, First Year Experience etc.
  • Submit monthly reports and monthly statistics
