Provincial Study Coordinator (6 Months Fixed Term Contract) Wits ASSURE

Main purpose of the job:

• Overall project coordination function for a project linked to one Principal Investigator and/or one sponsor

Location:

• Western Cape: Cape Town and Surrounding Areas (Mitchell’s Plain, Khayelitsha, and more)

Key performance areas:

• Collate and formalize all possible cross-functional efforts to achieve study objectives and goals
• Liaise with all stakeholders within the organization at all levels of the business to meet program goals
• Act as first contact liaison with the National Coordinator in respect of the project within your domain
• Ensure that manpower planning of all staff takes place in accordance with the BCEA and the unit’s needs
• Perform and facilitate performance development and assessments
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
• Escalate all relevant issues to the required and respective line authorities including P.I, and others as required using the correct medium of communication of such as determined by the protocol
• In conjunction with Study Managers and respective P.I create and implement a sound Retention Strategy
• Provide support to department or functional team leads to ensure that Project targets and goals are met

Required minimum education and training:

• Tertiary qualification in postgraduate studies in Social Sciences, Public Health Sector

Required minimum work experience:

• 2–3 years working experience
• 2-3 years Donor and grants management experience
• 2-3 years staff management experience at a mid-management level, working experience within behavioral research an advantage

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• GCP Certification
• Project Management Skills at a mid-level
• Ability to liaise with external stakeholders at all levels including Government Liaison, Strong Networking, and Relationship building ability
• Advanced Level of Computer Literacy
• Conflict Management Skills
• Must be a team player
