Our client is a fast-growing property management firm based in Fulham, London, with an extensive and ever-increasing portfolio of properties across London.

They are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Property Inspections Manager to work remotely.

Our client employs several Property Inspectors to continually inspect properties and report on their findings to the Property Manager who manages the building and also the Directors of the property board.

The Role:

  • The role is to build and manage an Excel database of all the potential works generated from any property inspection of existing and new properties.
  • This means that once an inspection has been completed, all items highlighted are to be exported from the report into the database.
  • It is then your responsibility to liaise with building Directors and Property Managers, seek agreement for those works to go ahead, instruct staff to complete them and then record the progress of the completion of work recorded in the database.

Skills Required:

  • Methodical and consistent approach - To schedule and book in inspections, share the conclusions of the reports, update the database, and follow up to check that required works have been completed.
  • Entrepreneurial flair - To create new, and exploit existing, business opportunities and maximize revenue from the works that arise from the reports. There may be common problems recorded that our client does not currently offer a service for.
  • Good communication skills - To liaise with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including customers, Contractors, Property Managers.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills - Needed to arrange Property Inspector visits in the most cost-efficient manner and responding to issues as they arise before, during and after those visits.
  • Multi-tasking – You will need to juggle a variety of tasks at the same time. From liaising with an Inspector on site, to answering a pricing query on an existing contract or pitching to a potential new customer.
  • Leadership - You will be in sole control of the database of works and the main driver in the revenue generated from it.
  • Customer awareness – Our client wants to be proud of the property inspection product and process they offer and for it to be key driver for new property management and maintenance business.
  • Perseverance and motivation – Our client love someone who is hardworking, energetic, bright, and cheerful in the face of challenges and adversity.

Desirable Experience (in at least one similar role.):

  • A role within the construction industry, scheduling and managing works.
  • A customer service role in an inbound / outbound call center, control room or contact center.
  • A target-based business development role.

Required Experience:

  • Someone with experience of producing and managing Excel databases on an ongoing basis.

This is an entry level position, and the right applicant will be given full support in training toward their IRPM qualification in order to progress within the block management sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Exposure to all aspects of block management.
  • Strong focus on customer service; phone, e-mail etc.
  • General administration.
  • Assist with S. 20 notices.
  • Invoice processing (incoming and outgoing).
  • Assist in new block set up on in house systems.
  • Maintain up to date contact information.
  • Mail outs.
  • Check key documents are scanned and saved.
  • Service charge / ground rent queries.
  • Arrange works with contractors when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Be a fast learner.
  • Used to using Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Previous property experience is preferred but not essential.
  • More important is a good work ethic and a desire to progress within the industry.
  • Education to Degree level is preferred but not essential.

Salary offered: R20 000 per month (depending on experience).

Starting date: As soon as possible.
