SUMMARY:
Future Careers is recruiting a Property Finance Consultant for a leading home finance institution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively sourcing and assisting prospective home loan clients through needs-based selling.
POSITION INFO:
This role focuses on originating new business, facilitating the transfer of existing home loans from other financial institutions, and delivering tailored home finance solutions supported by exceptional customer service throughout the application and approval processess.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Sourcing & Business Development
- Proactively source potential home loan clients through both reactive and proactive prospecting methods
- Build and maintain a strong referral network with estate agents, bond originators, corporate partners, and direct clients
- Execute referral campaigns and participate in outdoor, mall, and community marketing initiatives
- Support brand visibility through social media engagement, corporate presentations, and wellness days
Client Needs Analysis & Pre-Qualification
- Conduct thorough needs analysis using open-ended questioning to understand clients’ financial and emotional requirements
- Pre-qualify clients by assessing background information, credit health, and affordability
- Identify potential financial challenges and propose appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate records of leads, interactions, and follow-ups
Product Matching & Advisory
- Apply strong product knowledge to match suitable home finance solutions to client needs
- Clearly explain application procedures and applicable credit criteria
- Provide upfront guidance on requirements, documentation, and any potential complexities
- Ensure all supporting documents are accurate and complete
Approval & Deal Closure
- Explain final approval outcomes, including all terms and conditions, to clients
- Clearly summarise the benefits, features, and obligations of the approved home loan package
- Ensure a smooth and professional closing process
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain regular contact with clients throughout the application and approval journey
- Provide timely updates and clear responses to client queries
- Maintain post-approval contact to ensure ongoing satisfaction and request referrals
Application Capture & File Management
- Accurately complete and capture home loan applications in line with client needs and qualification criteria
- Compile, verify, and submit complete application files ready for processing
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and credit requirements
Experience & Skills
- Matric qualification
- Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
- Clear credit record (no debt review or adverse listings)
- Minimum of 2 years’ proven success in sales conversions
- Experience in proactive prospecting within a pressurised sales environment
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Exposure to marketing and lead generation activities
- 3 or more years of sales experience, preferably within home loans, finance, or a related financial services environment
- Experience operating in a self-sourcing sales role, with the ability to independently generate leads
- 2–3 years of external sales experience (e.g. finance, insurance, or banking)
- Proven ability to build and maintain referral networks
- Strong computer literacy and ability to work across multiple systems
- Effective planning and time-management skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet targets
- Market-orientated mindset with strong commercial awareness
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Systematic, organised, and process-driven approach to work
