Project Manager (Contract) – Management Consulting

A leading Management Consulting firm requires the skill of a dynamic individual to join them and thrive within this Project Manager role (intermediate level).  You will provide support to the Strategic Projects management and operational requirements in the effective delivery of the these Projects.

You will meet the following minimum requirements

• Degree (Non negotiable) in Business / Project Management / Information Technology or related
• At least 5 -6 years’ relevant experience in a projects environment

• PMP / PMBOK qualification or similar

• 3+ years management consulting sector experience (non negotiable)
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Project Management (multiple projects) with an understanding of Governance, Strategy, Operations and implementation projects
• Agile experience/exposure is a must
• Enterprise project management tools advantageous
• Must be an entrepreneurial thinker, willing to roll up your sleeves to provide 360 degree contribution (strategy, implementation, operations involvement etc)

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide project management services to project / steam leads in allocated area of responsibility according to approved program management standards, processes and tools 
• Provision of accurate, timely information to enable Schedule and Cost updates
• Support project or stream leads in allocated area of responsibility to manage implementation activities, organize staff and enable efficient delivery of project outputs
• Analysis of project progress, identification of risks and issues and providing project and stream leads with advice and recommendations to optimize project implementation performance
• Ensure that project / functional area records are kept up to date according to program standards and liaise with administrative function to request required administrative services
• Report on functional / project performance and support the PMO Analyst Lead in preparing program reports
• Analyze alternative courses of action related to issues experienced, with a specific area on own area of responsibility
• Provide inputs during the assessment and development of recommendations regarding scope changes and change requests
• Work closely with other PMO team members, project and stream leads to enable teamwork and efficient program implementation

Location: Gauteng

Duration: Contract (6-8 months initially)
