Project Implementation Leader (Business Intelligence) (Transport and Logistics)

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Position Overview:

A global leading firm in international transport and logistics has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Project Implementation Lead – Business Intelligence.

The chosen candidate will Project Manage, Implement and Support the respective BI Applications / Software Systems and their day-to-day issues and apply continuous improvement projects.

One will also perform Trainings to the end users of the Solutions and escalate and communicate directly with the firm’s headquarters to resolve all related MOE/AMOA formalities. One will also ensure to follow the firm’s group procedures in the proper and standard process of Initiating, Alerting and Applying of New Releases encompassing Bug Fixes and Enhancements.

The element of training will be to ensure that staff not only master necessary software features but can successfully apply the chosen candidate to work situations according to best practices and with the aim of achieving the highest possible levels of personal and team productivity.

The successful candidate will view his/her role as a mix of educator, instructor, best practices and productivity coach, skills assessor, and training material designer, from time to time as may be requested by his/her management

Role Specific Functions:

Deployment.
System Evolution and Continuity.
Provide Daily Support to Users of the BI and Other Related Tools.
Manage Continuous Improvement Projects.
Provide Training to End Users.
Training / Support.
Continuously Improve.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required

Minimum Requirements:

High Level of expertise in the use of COGNOS; ERP Deployment; Business Intelligence; BI Application; Power BI.
A completed Degree in Business Information Systems or similar.
A completed Degree in Project Management.
Basic IT Knowledge (A+ / N).
MS Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel).
Knowledge of Transport Management Systems and SQL is essential.
Understanding of Finance and related Reporting preferred.
Experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Transport Management or similar is essential.
Experience with one-on-one and group training both in-person and via web conference delivery.
Strong passion for learning and teaching software, especially web-based and web-development type software.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
Must be willing and prepared to travel.
Must have a valid passport.
