Seeking an experienced Programme Officer - West Africa (Health sector) for a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. The successful incumbent needs to have managed programs in the health care sector and needs to be a resident or retain a residence permit in West Africa.

Description

The Programme Officer - West Africa (Health Sector) will represent the company in the region and be responsible for:

• Successful implementation of the programme alongside the NGO partner(s) across selected West African countries.
• Working with all stakeholders to support capacity and capability building activities in the countries of implementation.
• Providing leadership through mentorship and coaching, guidance and support to NGO partners on all activities being delivered on the ground
• Key Accountability:
• Delivery of a successful programme/s in partnership with Governments and the NGO partner(s) in country:
• Ensuring the programme strategy is aligned with country and programme needs to maximise
  effectiveness and impact
• Ensuring NGO partners deliver on KPI''s
• Conducting regular reviews with guidance and support on programme deliverable with all NGO partners
  
• Supporting the partners towards effective and efficient programme delivery, all within required governance
  and compliance standards.
  Working with stakeholders to support capacity and capability building activities in/across country and compliance standards.
• Working with stakeholders to support capacity and capability building activities in/across country
• Establishing stakeholder relationships to ensure long term sustainability of the programme - NGO partners
• Providing training, mentorship and coaching,guidance and support to NGO partners as required and
  prioritised by the programme
• Providing leadership and assurance that programme activities are delivered in line with the company''s governance and compliance requirements
• Analysis and verification of programme data.
• Regular updates to broader Access to Health care team on programme developments/achievements.
• Maintenance of administrative systems

Profile

In order to apply for the Programme Officer - West Africa (Health Sector) role, you need to have the following:

• Must be a resident or retain a residence permit in West Africa
• Demonstrate experience and understanding of the West African Health care systems
• Be fluent in written and spoken English & French.
• Have at least 3 years pharmaceutical or health care industry experience.
• Must have previous access programme setup and/or implementation experience
• A tertiary qualification in Science or Public Health is a requirement
• Ability to mentor, coach and provide guidance to external stakeholders including senior leaders/management.
