SUMMARY:
A Programme Manager: Training & Development (5 Year FTC) vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium's Health Systems Enablement & Innovation (Wits HSEI) in Centurion - Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Background

• The Health Systems Enablement & Innovation (HSEI), based at the University of the Witwatersrand, studies enablement amongst individual patients, patient populations, health services and health systems with a particular focus on underserved or vulnerable populations
• The aim is to help South Africa and African underserved and vulnerable populations and their national health systems realize their true potential

Main purpose of the job

• To provide oversight, management and performance of the Gauteng DoH CHW project

Location

• HSEI Offices, Centurion

Key performance areas

Project Management

• Establish different project workstreams with project management from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes
• Provide technical support and oversight to the projects team

Programme implementation, monitoring and reporting

• Develop annual project plans and budgets in consultation with Senior Programme Manager and teams
• Arrange and facilitate monthly and quarterly quality improvements and assurance of training process

Contract Management

• Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress
• Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters

Stakeholder Management and Communication

• Develop and effectively manage relationships with external stakeholders including DoH and partners
• Keep stakeholders up to date with respect to the project

Quality Assurance

• Quality assures the operational activities of the project, maintain and implement relevant policies, procedures and protocols
• Provide training and support to quality assurance team on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes

Required minimum education and training

• Diploma in Nursing or Degree in Health Sciences
• A postgraduate degree in Public Health or Health Management will be an added advantage

Required minimum work experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar or management role
• Experience in training and a project management role in the public health field

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities

• Strong knowledge of H&WSETA and QCTO
• Facilitation and presentation skills
• Ability to function and operate strategically with sound business acumen
• Strong leadership skills (including emotional intelligence), thoughtful and diplomatic
• Exceptional planning, organizational and administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Display sound systems development and analysis skills
