Professional Typist

SUMMARY:
An opportunity has become available for a Professional Typist who is able to type approximately 120 words per minute. This is a 12-month fixed term contract based in Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the position:

Record Project Meetings between the company and the client, internal work sessions and between company and service providers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Typing legal and Project documents / reports, proof-reading and scanning of documents.
• Typing correspondences and from Dictaphones where applicable.
• Successful incumbent will attend 10 – 15 meetings a week and will be allocated an 8-hour turnaround to submit first draft of minutes to internal stakeholders and 5 working days to
• submit to external client.
• Prepare for meetings through coordinating venue logistics, drafting agenda and taking minutes, tracking matters arising and prepare high quality documents and presentations.
• Ensure proper hard copy and / or electronic filing / archiving systems, including off-site archiving.
• Assist with the compilation of Project Board documentation, EXCO and Audit Committee.
• Managing corporate information flow in a timely and accurate manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (Matric) and a Secretarial / Personal Assistant Post Matric Qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a secretary in a commercial environment.
• Advanced computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite, MS SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Professional.
• A minimum typing speed of 120 wpm is required.
• High technical affinity for office technology (printers, copiers, tele- and video conferencing,
• intranet, e-calendars).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to help shape a positive company image
• with internal and external clients.
• Knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and business practices.
• High levels of initiative, professionalism and a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Sound judgment, high level of emotional maturity, discretion, and confidentiality.
