							  A national manufacturing company, dealing within the tiling and brick manufacturing industry, has an opportunity for a Production/Maintenance Manager with experience in this environment. 							  POSITION INFO:
							  Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production/factory environment.
 - Sound electrical and mechanical knowledge.
 - Production Planning – Communicate daily with the Commercial Manager, sales and dispatch planning teams to ensure that sufficient stock levels are maintained, combined with problem solving on breakdowns on the main production line, and planning the maintenance schedule.
 - BTech/Degree, preferably an Engineering or Production qualification with excellent maintenance experience. (Or a Millwright that worked their way up in a production environment, with extra production management courses etc.) 
 - Assist with problem solving on breakdowns on the main production line.
 - Ensure that safety levels are optimal and that there is good housekeeping in the factory.
 - Yard control to plan, organize and control the production facility, to produce tiles and fittings of the correct quality and cost at the correct time.
 - Management of stock levels, including critical spares and raw materials and to ensure that procurement procedures are adhered to.
 - Management of stock counts and audits with finance and ensure stock/inventory control in the system.
 - Manage stock losses and variance tracking/production breakages.
 - Negotiate with all suppliers on both raw materials and maintenance spares for the timeous supply of materials at the best possible rate.
 - Maintain good industrial relations - experience within a unionized environment - and adhere to procedures between factory staff and management through the established IR procedures.
 - Labour productivity, efficiencies and unit production costs.
 - SHEQ management and compliance with ISO 14001 & ISO 9001, and OHSAS 18001.
 - Develop and motivate production staff to achieve the agreed objectives regarding efficiency, quality, industrial relations, health and safety.
 - Maintain, review and develop the SABS Quality Management System to establish and maintain quality standards.
 - Controls to manage shrinkage and breakages.
