Production Technician

Qualifications:

• Grade 12

• Qualified N3 mechanical, electrical or millwright

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 – 5 years’ working experience in the similar/same position

• Ability to work independently

• Good timekeeping is essential

• Computer literacy

• Must be prepared to work shifts, standby and overtime

• Compression and Injection moulding knowledge

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Ensure that shift efficiencies are achieved, as per the Company''s measurable

• Attend to breakdowns as and when they occur

• Report any breakdown that last more than an hour to the Production Supervisor

• Ensure that all products conform to customer specifications before it is moved to the next operation

• Ensure that all production conforms to product specifications and that scrap

• Ensure that quality inspections are performed at required intervals

• Implementation of preventative action with the Shift Supervisor

• Carrying out process changes when required within a reasonable time limit

• Carrying out colour change and conduct product start ups

• Report all faulty equipment by making use of the job card system

• Do visual inspections prior to starting any machines

• Attend to breakdowns
• Do scheduled maintenance as per the maintenance program, create breakdown job cards as required

• Ensure that shift handover is done in accordance with the shift handover procedure

• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of all shift related events

• Ensure job cards are completed as per the breakdown and maintenance procedure

• Ensure that all shift documentation is completed while on shift and filed in the relevant files

• Ensure that process sheets are correct and displayed on each and every machine that is running. Any changes to the process sheet must be recorded and documented as per the procedure and reported to the Team Leader.

• Ensure that packers and operators are supervised and utilized in an effective manner

• Communicate relevant and pertinent information to all shift employees

• Report any problems experienced with shift employees to the Team Leader including sick leave and late coming

• Ensure that good timekeeping is adhered to by all shift employees.

• Help maintain good housekeeping practices

• Ensure that after working on a machine and during normal production no dirt, grease, closures and bottles are on the floor, on and in the machine
• Ensure that cleaning company employees are monitored and supervised

• Ensure that area of responsibility complies with all health and safety regulations and procedures

• Ensure compliance with all HACCP and ISO rules and regulations

• Ensure that machine safety switches are functional and in working order
