Production Technician

SUMMARY:
A defence company in Cape Town is seeking a production technician to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for an exceptional and passionate technician to join their dynamic
Production team. Successful candidates will form part of the production team specialising in different processes across various facets of aerospace production.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Employee will work as a Senior Production Technician, scope of work will include (but is not limited
to) the following:
1.1. Take a senior role in assembly, testing, design, development, implementation and verification of
systems, subsystems, testers and associated software, hardware and algorithms associated with the
Employer’s products and services;
1.2. Contributing towards the outputs for specific projects, including all design, documentation and
verification artefacts;
1.3. Taking responsibility for the proper implementation and proper functionality of the Employer’s
prototyping and assembly facilities, including tooling, spares, stock and infrastructure. Maintain
company processes and systems in line with ISO 9001, AS 9100 and other quality, production and
development standards;
1.4. Managing stores and stock in alignment with AS9100 standards, ensuring all materials and
components are organized, safely stored and properly accounted for;
1.5. Conducting incoming inspections of components to verify quality, quantity, authenticity and ensuring
each part is precisely documented within the ERP system;
1.6. Collaborating with the Quality Manager to perform formal quality inspections on electronic and
mechanical components, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and product specifications;
1.7. Play a role in the generation of outputs for projects, including design, testing, documentation,
production and verification artefacts;
1.8. Implementation of S-PLANE system engineering processes, plans and policies as applicable to a
specific project; and
1.9. Perform minor support roles within the company, as required.
2. REQUIREMENTS:
2.1. Minimum Qualifications:
2.1.1. B-Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
2.2. Required Skills and Experience:
2.2.1. 4 – 5 years of relevant industry experience; and
2.2.2. Familiarity with Electronic components, PCBs and Soldering.

2.3. Recommended Skills and Experience:
2.3.1. Electronic production;
2.3.2. Electromechanical integration;
2.3.3. Electronic testing;
2.3.4. Integration testing;
2.3.5. Product qualification and stress testing; and
2.3.6. Production procurement.
