Production Team Leader (Extrusion))

SUMMARY:

Our client, a reputable automotive manufacturing is searching for a skilled Production Team Leader to provide ongoing support to customers by leading the Extrusion Production Team to maintain a safe working environment that produces high quality products in a productive manner, delivered to the customer on time.

POSITION INFO:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

​Safety and Environment:

• Ensure measures for Safety; fire prevention, inspection and confirmation of safety devices
• Line management for safety patrol amd ensuring safety is being controlled and monitored
• Deployment of KY training
• Development of 2S1Y activity
• Energy saving and reduction of waste

Production Control and Quality 

• Management of extrusion team members and extrusion process
• Be able to mentor and guide members to understand the process and product and be able  to train members where necessary
• Responsible for die tuning and manage lead time for die making
• Make judgements for: die changes and parameter changes
• Be able to make profile shape changes for VS parameter
• Monitor stock levels; ensure that there is minimal wastage of material and time
• Ensuring that the Extrusion Division meets the daily base volumes with minimal defect parts
• Manage members to meet their hourly targets [cycle time].Hourly targets are based on machine speed and so targets should be monitored on a daily basis, taking into consideration NG [Not Good] parts
• Making appropriate decisions to prevent wastage of product
• Planning of production and parts ordering
• Be able to execute overtime plan to team members to ensure daily targets are met
• Adhere to Quality Management Systems and ISO requirements

Employment Management

• Provide leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice
• Responsible for knowing proper procedures for team members to follow and ensuring that they comply
• Training of new employees
• Work with team members and other staff to implement Quality Circle activities

Administration

• Record keeping of attendance, overtime, and other related administration tasks
• Control of employee documentation related to sick leave, annual leave, overtime, etc.
• Creation and revision of work instructions, visual aids etc.
• Updating of relevant documentation at the beginning of the month 

Kaizen (Continuous Improvement)

• Make improvements on cycle-time, change-over method
• Countermeasures for defects and line-stoppage
• Countermeasures for customer complaint, process abnormality
