JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Position: Production Supervisor

Location: Port Elizabeth

Salary: R25 000 to R30 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification

Qualifications / Requirements:

• A production related Diploma OR a Qualified Artisan

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a manufacturing concern

• Experience from a technical background (e.g. must be able to read and interpret drawings) essential

• Knowledge and application of quality management systems

• Practical knowledge of shop floor industrial relations and administration

• Must be computer literate

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Must have a clean record – no valid disciplinary warnings

Key Performance Areas:

• Direct production activities with a focus on quality, delivery and a safe working environment

• Responsible and accountable for leading the shift teams

• Gather, analyse and report on production information

• Comply with organisational standards

• Collate and record daily production figures

• Perform hands on tasks where necessary

• Behave ethically and promote ethical behaviour in a work situation

• Maintain housekeeping standards

• Conduct investigations and disciplinary actions when required to do so

• Responsible for implementing manufacturing practices and continuous improvement
