Production Supervisor

SUMMARY:
An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Production Supervisor with automotive experience in Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the role:

Provide ongoing support by leading the Production team to maintain a safe working environment that produces high quality products in a productive manner, delivered to the customer on time.

Requirements:

• Matric
• Diploma or Degree in Production Management or similar
• 5 Years Supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to the automotive industry would be an added advantage.
• Risk Management
• Knowledge and experience of problem-solving techniques.
• Knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
• IATF knowledge would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Promote safe working environment.
• Ensure all safety requirements are adhered.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise the daily operations and functions of the Production teams to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure each team meet stable production and achieve availability and productivity targets.
• Ensure each team meet customer delivery on time, correct product and quantity.
• Ensure compliance and regulatory items meets requirements.
• Manage accuracy of stock received, stored and delivered to customers.
• Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities to ensure company targets are achieved.
• Develop and Manage Standard Operating Procedures
• Implementing cross training and multiskilling
• Monitoring daily work performance
• Reporting
• Work closely with cross functional departments to ensure efficient plant operations.
• Manage work place issues, disciplinary, counselling and grievances
