Production Manager

POSITION INFO:

A well-established company in the FMCG industry is looking for a skilled

On a farm in the East-Rand area to work in the processing plant.

Duties will include:

• Taking charge of the production department within the factory
• Producing high quality products for our customers
• Understanding and improving production processes within the department
• Forward planning and general admin
• Staff management and optimal productivity and efficiency
• Achieving and improving on set production targets
• Daily stock taking, stock rotation and management of electronic stock system.
• Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP
• All areas of responsibility must be neat and clean at all times.
• Prepare for various monthly and annual audits.
• Cost control management to comply with departmental budget.
• Daily report back to senior manager and weekly/monthly formal reports
• Follow maintenance schedules, some physical maintenance work to be conducted.
• Manage crisis situations within the department, like breakdowns.

The ideal candidate should have good production and at least 5 years’ experience in a similar management position.  The candidate must have worked in a FMCG production facility before, preferably an food pack station.

 Other requirements:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Food industry experience essetial
• Must have production experience
• Exceptional planning and organisational skills
• Excellent electrical, technical, and mechanical skills
• Good communication skills
• Honest and trustworthy
• Excellent computing and recordkeeping skills
• Leadership skills with an ability to manage individuals as well as big teams of personnel.
• Good human relations
• Candidate must have a pro-active and attention to detail approach to his work.
• Must be willing to work every second weekend and work extended hours from time to time
