SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available!! Our well known client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Production Plating Manager to join their team in Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description: 
  • Ensure Plating Plants’ daily performance is above min requirement of 95%
  • Ensure Plating Plants daily 1st Time Buy-off is above min requirement of 85%
  • Formulate and maintain routine equipment maintenance tasks to be performed by group leaders for the plant
  • Plan & support daily, weekly and monthly tank maintenance
  • Conduct weekly Plant Safety checks
  • Conduct / oversee MDW meetings
  • Training and development of subordinates
  • Review and update PCD’s (FMEA, CP, PFC ) together with the team if and when required
  • Contribute to process-related corrective actions and G8D’s / FTR
  • Develop programs and coordinate trials for new projects until production readiness
  • Engage in Kaizen Activities and establish Capex-requirements
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas, consistently.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations, and ensure you wear the required PPE.
  • Engage and stay up to date with information from the company partner
  • Manage two plating plants
  • Manager daily performance usage
  • Availability of WIP to support internal customers in line with their production planning
  • Oversee upkeep of equipment required for plating and inspection
  • Sufficient manpower planning (incl Overtime sheets) for weekly support in term of maintenance
  • Develop and maintain a plating jig program, ensuring availability of a sufficient number of jigs
  • Strict adherence to approved Budget
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety, using correct PPE
  • Consistently adhere to the following:
  • All relevant safety and environmental issues.
  • Housekeeping 5s and maintenance of all areas concerning the Plating Plant
  • Maintenance and control of processes, chemical additions and adjustments.
  • Upkeep of charts and records.

Job Requirements: 

  • Qualification in Chemical engineering/analytical chemistry. Preferred B.Sc. Degree in Chemical engineering
  • Chemical maintenance of electrolytes.
  • 5 years’ experience in the chemical analytical industry.
  • 5 years management experience
