Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a production planner scheduler with experience in the manufacturing equipment sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the scheduling and planning of all manufacturing equipment within the production plant. This is a permanent position based in Boksburg, Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Purpose of Position:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the scheduling and planning of all manufacturing equipment within the plant.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience/Skills Required:

• Matric, Diploma / Tertiary Education advantageous
• 2 or more years’ experience with schedule and planning experience
• “High Speed – High Volume” manufacturing equipment industry experience preferred within a LEAN Environment
• Own transport, willing to work extended hours if need be
• Computer Literate in Microsoft Office. Capability to learn business information systems.
• Articulate, clear, persuasive, and passionate in the spoken and written word.
• Ability to handle complex problems
• Ability to build relationships with people at all levels of the organization, including diverse cultures.
• Decisiveness, manage change effectively
• Communications, emotional composure, hands on, customer intimacy, manage change effectively

Duties:

• Safety: Practice safety and safe use of equipment.
• Financial: Schedule production assuring maximum efficiency of machines, throughput, and labour in order to optimize profitability.
• Scheduling and Planning: Obtain orders from Customer Service in order to create a schedule based on production capacity and pull system. Prioritize jobs considering request dates and production efficiencies.
• Initiate purchase of raw materials dies and cylinders. Communicate required schedule changes.
• Capacity Rationalization: Work closely with Customer Service and Production in job order sequencing to optimize capacity on a pull system and ensure all inputs to production are available prior to going to press.
• Monitor production efficiency comparing production hours vs. output.
• Operations Support:  Support production goals and objectives through managing the initial job plan, while maintaining OTIF (on time in full) and reduce working capital. Report backlog daily.
• Customer Relationship: Promote a customer-focused culture at the Plant, ensuring on-time deliveries of a quality product and supporting the development of new products and technologies.
• People: Build a network of relationships within the Corporation and the Plant in order to manage the scheduling and planning functions.
