Production Planner

SUMMARY:
A well- established FMCG (Fresh Food) company based in Joburg East is seeking a Production Planner to compile, maintain and update 3rd party manufacturers Production Plans as per business requirements

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma: Production and Inventory Management
• 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a related role within the food manufacturing environment

ESH Management:

• Manage health, safety and environmental objectives within the internal environment
• Comply to Legislation as set out in the OSH Act and to organisational standards

• Within scope of authority of the role, carry out all the employer’s lawful orders in the interest of health and safety, and report any unsafe acts or conditions
• You are authorised in terms of the OSH Act to enforce all requirements of the standard operating procedures

Quality & Food Safety:

• Comply to Legislation as set out in the Foodstuffs Disinfectants and Cosmetics Act and all other relevant Food legislation, regulations and organisational standards
• Apply and continuously improve procedures within internal environment
• Comply with requirements of the Integrated Management System

Financial Management:

• Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)

Minimise waste and rework

Customer Relations:

• Foster and maintain customer relations

Supplier Relations:

Foster and maintain supplier relations

Production Planning:

• Upload Sales forecasts into SDOSA planning file.
• Compile the Production requirements for SDOSA Finished Products with 3rd party packers
• Maintain and update tanker plan with 3rd party bulk tanker requirements
• Communicate the Production Plan to 3rd party packers
• Create Purchase Orders for 3rd party manufacturers, packaging and minor ingredients
• Maintain and update Production Plan (plan vs. actual) and reschedule as required
• Compile weekly PVA reports for packing plants
• Compile weekly stock covers for finished goods
• Receive supplier blend demand and upload into SAP to determine raw material and process chemical requirements (Black dot report)
• Notify suppliers of oil requirements
• Plan product trial dates and requirements
• Compile Working Capital Report (monthly)
• Reconcile SAP to 3rd party manufacturers stock and investigate variances
• Maintain and update SAP Master Data (Finished Goods stock items, lead times, etc.)
• Conduct 3rd party stock takes (monthly)

Close-out all outstanding open Purchase Orders (month end)
