Production / Operations Manager / Planner

SUMMARY:
We are looking to employ a skillful Operations Manager between the age of 34 - 38 years of age that can manage a the Production and Warehouse and can do Pharmaceutical costings and manage 70+ staff that can join our dynamic team of experts urgently!!!!

POSITION INFO:

Production ISO 9001 Operations Manager / Planner

Location: Durban

Salary: R15 000 - R24 000 per month depending on experience

Reports to:

Managing Director

The following requirements for the person;

• Aged between 34-38
• Must have ISO 9001 Certification plus experience with ISO 9001 Management System.
• Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in role
• Ambitious
• Own vehicle
• Must be able to work over time
• No specific gender or race group
• This person must have managed an operation of management and junior staff total is 70 staff
• A production back ground where the person started as a junior and climbed into management.

Responsibilities

·         Ensure staff follow rules and procedures as per the quality system/manual.

·         Ensure BOMS are correct and up to date.

·         Approve new BOMS or variance “Warnings” to exciting BOMS.

·         Carry out performance reviews for BUL’s and Supervisors and ensure they follow the same performance review procedure with their staff. 

·         Oversee / carry out the planning and scheduling of production, warehousing and logistics.

·         Monitor and Investigate production variance and put in preventative measures to stop it from happening again.

·         Implement, drive, and measure improvement projects.

·         Ensure raw materials / finished goods are received, issued, and dispatched correctly by the BUL or responsible persons.

·         Manage production and barcode scanning software.

·         Measure and monitor staff performance / output to ensure job are completed OTIF.

·         Monitor and manage expenses related to operations.

·         Monitor and manage over time and wages to avoid excess over time.

·         Monitor and manage transport costs / check transport costs / credits / better rates.

·         Manage outsourced CMT.

·         See to and resolve any IT / software problems.

·         Analyze all journals monthly for inventory variance.

·         Ensure orders are delivered OTIF, if there are any shortages communicate to sales.

·         Ensure products are manufactured in the most cost-effective manner.

·         Ensure all machines, equipment, company vehicles and buildings are maintained/serviced correctly.

·         Ensure all equipment that requires calibration is done so at the respective times.

·         Ensure pest control is carried out on a monthly basis.

·         Ensure building meets health and safety and fire safety regulations.

·         Ensure stock take is carried out correctly as per the schedule and discrepancies are investigated and resolved.

·         Ensure inventory levels are sufficient at all times and communicate with procurement   department when items are running low or urgent items are required.

·         Pharmaceutical product costings

·         Oversee the Textile calculation of costings for new products and oversee the updating costings.

·         CARS – raising CARS / assist in closing CARS / complete CARS where needed.

·         Oversee HR and ensure necessary / correct disciplinary action is being taken and documents are completed correctly.

·         Assist with raw material formulations are correct on forecast.

·         Assist with design and development.

·         Oversee the opening and closing of the warehouse / office.

·         Any other requirements that are part of operations / planning

Educational Qualifications:

·         Operations Diploma/degree
