SUMMARY:
A well-known and established Food Processing and Packaging Company requires a Production Manager to manage and drive efficiencies and performance within their plant.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Minimum matric and previous experience having worked as a Production Manager within the Food or Meat Processing or Plastics or related manufacturing industries is essential.
  • Previous barrier film or flexible or plastic printing production experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous blown or barrier film manufacturing experience is essential preferably working within the Flexibles Packaging manufacturing industry is preferred but not essential.
  • A good knowledge of extrusion and printing is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked in a BRC accredited environment is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Achieve production targets and support meeting of sales targets.
  • Optimise operational costs and ensure quality processes.
  • Drive and manage increased product income at reduced costs. 
  • Ensure all operations comply with OSHA standards including alignment to the Company’s Health and Safety and Environment policy.
  • Ensure all operations and facility comply with accreditation requirements.
  • Build relationships with team to drive employee performance and accountability.
  • Promote and encourage a culture of teamwork employing best practices that benefit all employees. 
  • Promote continuous improvement principles and analytical problem-solving techniques.
  • Assist with fault identification and fixing of root cause and ensure the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
  • Maintain and improve product income levels through waste reduction, cost reduction, and cost improvement plans.
  • Manage labour, maintenance and repair costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Evaluate performance against plans and decide on corrective action to enhance the Unit’s performance in support of sales objectives, including driving continuous improvement of existing people, process, technologies and systems.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
