Production Manager (FMCG)

SUMMARY:
Experience in running a multi-shift production team, working 24 x 7

POSITION INFO:

You will be required to enable the achievement of Production targets through effectively managing production activities and ensuring adherence to an operational and financial framework of practices, processes, standards and controls.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Essential)
• Up to 6 years’ experience as a Production Manager
• Experience in running a multi-shift production team, working 24 x 7
• Bottling experience - blowing bottles, filling, capping, labelling, Palletizing
• Food experience – FSSC knowledge and standards essential
• FMCG experience
• World Class Manufacturing experience
• Have led a team of supervisors who in turn had teams reporting to them
• Attention to detail - thorough in finding root-cause of problems
• Working with unions
• Passion for training and uplifting staff
• Environmentally conscious
• Methodical
• Dynamic
• Hands-On
• Able to communicate in English, Afrikaans and a black language.

Key Result Areas:

• Actively engage at the regional level in the End-to-End Sales and Operational Planning Process
• Contribute to the Material Planning process as well as the execution of the Material plan
• Ensure that the Daily Production is aligned to ensure delivery
• Work in conjunction with the Regional Ops Manager to guarantee order fulfilment
• Monitor the Daily Production to ensure timeous product delivery to customers
• Manage the entire end to end Production/Manufacturing process for the relevant region
• Supervise the production of products in line with established standards, policies; procedures and safety guidelines
• Ensure that all infrastructure is maintained to ensure optimal capacity usage and availability
• Actively participate in operational planning and budgeting processes
• Drive continuous improvement
• Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks
• Ensure Adherence to all applicable Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Standards
• Manage cost drivers and take the necessary action to mitigate financial risk
• Manage employee performance through effective and goal-directed people leadership
