Production Manager

SUMMARY:
A leading FMCG company is seeking a Production Manager to join their organisation!

POSITION INFO:
POSITION  :    PRODUCTION MANAGER
LOCATION :    AMANZIMTOTI- KZN SOUTHCOAST
SALARY     :    MARKET RELATED

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• Manage production performance to ensure daily targets, manufacturing KPI’s, quality standards, OEE and business objectives are met

• Completed Matric 
• MUST have a minimum C aggregate for HG Math in Matric-NON NEGOTIABLE!!
• Completed Production Management/ Operations Management Diploma 
• Minimum 5 years working experience in the FMCG industry ONLY!
• Proven Managerial experience managing a team of at least 30, ESSENTIAL!
• Valid license + Own transport is essential
• Proven technical capabilities and knowledge essential
• Basic HR/IR knowledge and experience, OSH Act knowledge and experience, Quality Management knowledge and experience 
• Must be able to work night shift, week day overtime and weekends when required 
• Intermediate computer skills
• Experience within a GMP environment advantageous 
• Proven experience with sustainability and cost saving initiatives would be advantageous

• Manage production staff (5 direct reports, 150 indirect reports – 2 shifts)
• Monitor and control production costs (labour, consumables, R&M, waste) 
• Prepare daily and monthly production reports
• Assist the company on its journey to manufacturing excellence within a global manufacturing group environment.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency projects
• Drive skills development program
• Manage equipment/assets, processes and procedures
• Able to maintain and improve staff culture
• Managing HR/IR related issues amongst the manufacturing team
• Maintain good housekeeping practices
