Requirements

  • 5+ Years'' experience in the construction / production and concrete enviornment
  • Management skills
  • ISO 9001:2015 and SANS 1879:2013
  • Knowledge of Labour Law
  • Computer Literate
  • Valid driver''s licence and own transport

Duties

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day production operations
  • Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces quality regulations.
  • Develops, identifies and address training needs, recommends, and implements
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Ensures that all products meet 100% total quality control requirements, which includes, but isn’t limited to: taking samples and testing as necessary, ensuring all equipment is working properly to produce quality products, complete all requirements reports timely and accurately and informing proper personnel of any quality problems that needs resolving.
  • Action quality initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to business unit/tasks/processes/systems
  • Ensure alignment of all work process to the required quality standards
  • Identify and allocate quality related responsibilities and procedures
  • Assist with the formulation of an action plan to address nonconformance, identifying ISO requirements
  • Work with QA Management team to plan quality initiatives to meet identified performance standards
  • Ensure that systems are updated
  • Implement and provide feedback to management
  • Provide ongoing coaching and technical input to staff to ensure achievement of quality standards
  • Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements
  • Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules
  • Participate in quality audits (and lead a team of quality auditors, when needed)
  • Identify processes, situations, etc., where organization is meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement
  • Assist audit team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to top management, as needed
  • Assist with follow-up audits, as required
  • May be required to develop internal auditing/testing parameters
  • Attend to staff disciplinary matters
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances.
  • Fulfills Daily Casting requirements by training and guiding operators.
  • Develop and mobilize people around a shared vision and values, and lead people towards actualizing the vision and living the values
  • Establish visible performance measures, empowering staff to understand and participate in displaying the critical performance measures of the team and the business.
  • Identify and address training needs
  • Identify indicators reflecting poor staff morale, and take the necessary action to address
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Prepare adequately and participate actively and constructively in meetings
  • Proactively provide advice leading to improvement or resolution of problem areas identified
  • Understand and live the values of the team
  • Provide appropriate guidance and advice in areas of specialization, which is acted upon and leads to improvements or resolution of problems
  • Compile management information reports for production and audit reporting
  • Daily usage of raw material report
