Production Manager

SUMMARY:
A position has opened up in Bloemfontein for an experienced Production Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of this role:

• Responsible for producing quality stock at the required levels. Maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity. Also, responsible for security at the operations as well as safety and environmental performance.
• To oversee production operations to guarantee that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing the workflow.
• To satisfy demand as required from time to time.
• Overall supervising of the production unit at the workplace

1. 5-7 years’ experience in Manufacturing with at least two years in a supervisory position.
2. Tertiary qualification in Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Production or Engineering.
3. Engineering Artisanship

Duties include:

Producing of stock

• The producing of adequate quality product in compliance with the operational requirements of the company.
• Development, implementation and maintaining of production units.
• Monitoring of production.
• Liaise with National Operations Manager or any role playwer as to required production and stock levels.

Quality Management

• Insuring compliance with the quality standards and value proposition of the company

Target Levels

• Optimate utilization of personnel, ovens and equipment to maintain the required target levels.
• Communicate with National Operations Manager or any other relevant role player and production units as to the required production and day to day management.

Security

• Responsible for effective securing of the property, personnel and product.
• Employ of security and other personnel insuring stock take and monitoring.

Safety and Environmental Performance

• Insure compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Appointment of a Health and Safety committee and representatives.
• Communication with the SHEQ Manager as to all Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality issues.
• Issuing of adequate protective clothing and gear.

Personnel and Discipline

• Provides effective leadership and direction to staff.
• Management of Personnel and Discipline.
• Responsible for compliance with the Labour Relations act, Basic Conditions act and Disciplinary code of the employer.
• Maintaining proper communication channels with all Line Managers to deal with their HR related needs and issues.
• Maintenance of Buildings, Equipment and Movable Property of the Company on site
• Planning of shifts and effective management of employees
