Production Foreman

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Agricultural sector, has an opportunity available for a Production Foreman in the Dalton, KZN area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Matric, preferably with Maths and Science
• Diploma in Chemical Engineering would be an added advantage
• Courses on laboratory modules, Evaporators, Clarification, Pan boiling will be an advantage
• 5+ years post experience in a heavy industry environment with at least 2 years in the sugar industry
• 2+ years supervisory experience, with packing experience preferable
• Completed necessary training modules for area of responsibility e.g. Boiler modules/Packing station/Pan Boiler Modules/Foreman Training Programme 
• Computer literate – able to use Microsoft Office, PI historian, Maximo, Kronos, Apex System and Online training modules
• Experience in Refinery with raw sugar milling being an added advantage
• Knowledge of OHSACT, NEMA, ISO 9001.2000 and HACCP food management system
• Knowledge of laboratory and refinery operations will be an advantage

• Plan and supervise the daily work and performance of each employee on assigned shift, organize schedules, and assign work activity to achieve team and company objectives safely
• Monitor performance and support and advise teams in solving problems and/or taking corrective action
• Monitor standards for setting, operating and maintaining equipment and ensure instructions are adhered to2
• Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting physical inspections
• Manage stock levels to mitigate factory bottlenecks
• Manage product and packaging material requirements as per S&OP requirements
• Monitor quality performance on packing operations - raising incidents when required for immediate corrective action
• Inspect critical equipment and ensure adherence to minimum standards
• Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting physical inspections
