Production Foreman

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader within the cement/concrete manufacturing industry is looking for an experienced Production Foreman to join their team in Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Production planning
• Calculating standard usage of materials
• Ordering of raw stock
• Knowledge of standard capacities of each machine section
• Managing efficient response in respect of plant repair or breakdowns (including machinery, equipment, tools etc.)
• Following up on problems identified by operators
• Manage availability and maintenance of moulds to ensure consistent product compliance
• Oversee production methods and techniques
• Oversee production flow and productivity / efficiencies and improve where possible
• Ensure customer satisfaction including meeting delivery targets
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and SABS
• Study quality control report daily
• Facilitate and monitor meetings (including recording minutes and ensuring communication with workers at all times)
• Provide feedback on performance, results and action required
• Train production staff
• Agree and review KPA’s with subordinates
• Undertake regular safety inspections and comply to all safety regulations

Educational Requirements:

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF4 equivalent
• Relevant or similar tertiary technical qualification in production management

Experience and Skills Required:

• 5 years’ experience in production environment including experience in the manufacturing of cement/concrete-based products
• Knowledge of OHS and ISO standards
