Production Coordinator (clothing)

SUMMARY:
Dynamic local Clothing Manufacturer requires experienced Production Coordinator for their busy CMT operation, based in Pinetown (dbn).

POSITION INFO:

• The Production Coordinator will work closely with the Merchandiser, Sales Coordinator, Production team, and Factory/Production Manager.
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating to ensure smooth flow of all approvals and processes leading up to and during bulk production of confirmed orders.
• Responsible for ordering and following up on bulk fabric and trims.
• The Production Coordinator will be briefed by the Merchandiser on new enquiries trims/fabric requirements.
• Prepare Production Files and ensure all info on BOM ties up with Customer PO.
• Create Trims Chart in BOM file (to be signed off by Merchandiser).
• Work with Merchandiser to assist with obtaining pricing for trims (when required).
• Once trims are approved, process PO’s for all trims.
• Order thread per order.
• Chase and ensure all trims and thread received 7 weeks before delivery.
• Receive instruction from Sales Coordinator and order sampling fabric, transfers, trims for Fit & PP samples.
• Follow up with to ensure all sampling arrives correctly and according to timeline.
• Issue Bulk fabric requisition.
• Issue Bulk trims requisition.
• Request Bulk Marker and handover to QA to check measurements.
• Handover approved Bulk Marker to cutting in sequence of delivery.
• Receive updated order schedules from Merchandiser/Production Manager (Monthly).
• Create CPM (critical path management) tracker for Customer.
• Update production board according to spreadsheet.
• Daily production updates with development team and factory.
• Receive packing instructions and handover/oversee packing.
• Liaise with customer on overs/shortages.
• Liaise with accounts on invoicing.
• Load invoices onto SupplyIt.
• Finalize orders on SupplyIt.
• Book truck for transport to DC.
• Ensure orders are despatched accordingly.
• Liaise with the Merchandiser, Sales Coordinator, Production Manager & Team at all times to communicate instructions and feedback progress on both sides.
