SUMMARY:
An established Fresh Produce Company requires the above to ensure and maintain a high level of product quality, as well as to ascertain mechanical compliance to safety, environmental, and health procedures and regulations prior to, during and after production.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:
  • A BTech Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management or related qualification is preferred for this role.
  • Previous experience having worked as a Production Controller or related ideally within the FMCG production environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience having managed a production unit will be an advantage.
  • Must have the ability to work independently in a dynamic and challenging environment working with advanced technology equipment.
  • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Must be target driven.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring and maintaining a high level of product quality, and ascertain mechanical compliance to safety, environmental, and health procedures and regulations prior to, during and after production.
  • Optimising line productivity by managing the auto packer and carton shop.
  • Performing resource capacity planning on an ongoing basis.
  • Identifying and resolving process bottlenecks and constraints.
  • Managing and overseeing the calibration, verification, breakdowns and maintenance of the auto packer.
  • Communicating and engaging with OEMs and the Engineering Department.
  • Performing root cause analysis relating to quality system and equipment failures.
  • Executing the packing programme within quality parameters and programme requirements.
  • Controlling and effectively guiding the Production Team regarding training and preventative maintenance.
  • Reviewing areas of waste and devising an action plan to ensure reduction.
  • Managing and conducting accurate stock counts on a monthly basis to minimise variance from actual used.
  • Ensuring adherence to GMP at all times including 5S, SMED and housekeeping audits.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
