Production Clerk (6 Month Temp Contract)

SUMMARY:
Our client, a dynamic company in Stellenbosch, is seeking a Production Clerk on a 6-month temporary contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in office administration and processing purchase orders, be proficient in Microsoft Office and SAGE, and hold a SAWIS Certification. A valid driver’s license, sound knowledge of SAWIS certification requirements, familiarity with QMS procedures, and good product and production process knowledge are essential. REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in office administration.
• At least 1 year’s experience processing Purchase Orders.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with SAGE accounting software.
• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• SAWIS Certification Course completed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Sound knowledge of SAWIS certification requirements.
• Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
• Good knowledge of product handling and production processes.

• Verifies data captured on the efficiency reports.
• Liaises with the Shift Supervisor on downtime, identifying root causes and ensuring loop closure.
• Reports abnormal efficiency deviation concerns to the Production Manager and Planner.
• Updates trackers on a daily basis.

• Acts as a buddy for the Production Stock Controller.
• Updates production runs and reconciliations accordingly.
• Performs stock verification with dry goods and warehouse controllers.

• Oversee time and attendance reports and program.
• Assists the Shift Supervisor with the preparation of timecards and documentation for submission to the Payroll Administrator.
• Manages “Return to Work” documents, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
• Maintains the training matrix with a well-planned training schedule.
• Identifies staff shortfalls and assists with development.

• Assists the Production Manager and Planner with bottling reconsolidation queries and investigations.
• Manages and updates supplier monitoring records quarterly.
• Verifies all QMS reports, including Cleaning, Knife, Glass & Brittle, Chemical, Locker Inspection Registers, and Training Registers.
• Assists with monitoring QC scorecards and weekly scorecard reports.
• Conducts daily GEMBA walks with shift leaders.
• Manages all internal and external audit findings and recommendations.
• Acts as a buddy for the SAWIS clerk, supporting WOL submissions, Pink Cards, and DUFF.
• Assists the SAWIS clerk with the preparation of production bookings where required.

• Ensures world-class hygiene standards are maintained in the bottling plant and surrounding areas.
• Ensures QMS and HACCP principles are adhered to and participate in annual HACCP meetings.
• Enforces the protective clothing policy and manages PPE.
• Adheres to company and statutory Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained to required standards, with all areas of responsibility clean, neat, and safe.
