A technically savvy Product Owner required to join a growing software company in Edinburgh city centre.
The company
A growing and global SaaS provider, they are currently expanding their software and product function. This specific product team is based out of Edinburgh and there has been a large amount of internal investment in this product suite, due to its recent success. You will be part of a Product team of around 18, and will work closely alongside this team and the current Product Manager.
The organisation has a number of large and globally known clients and this client base is only getting bigger. You will be PO across the company''s most successful product and will enjoy working alongside the knowledgeable and experienced development team. In terms of home working, currently everyone is full time WFH and this will likely be the case until the summer. Post-Covid, they are likely to offer a split office/home-working role and are flexible, as long as you can get to the office a few days a week.
The role
This is very much a technical Product Owner position. You will be working very closely alongside the development team and it would be highly advantageous to have a strong technical understanding or even a development background. You will also have client-facing duties too, including speaking to them about requirements and passing these back to the dev team as well as discussing the feature changes with them. This position is to own and maintain the product backlog as well as represent the customer to the development team.
This product is highly technical, hence the need for this sort of background. They require someone who can help work out the detail of the product and help the dev team prioritise. Some further details on the role can be seen below:
Experience that will be helpful for this Product Owner role:
** Define and develop tickets and make sure the teams have the materials they need
** Make sure the development of features is up to date
** A strong understanding of API''s and how they work
** Background in owning and maintaining a product backlog
** A knowledge of databases as well as concepts of how systems talk to each other
** A background as a Developer or Technical BA
** Working for a software company that has sold it''s product to hundreds of customers
