SUMMARY:
One of our clients in the material supplier industry is looking to employ a Qualified Mechanical Engineer for their Product Development Engineer position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

What to expect:

Research, design, development and testing of products 75%. Stakeholder engagement 10%.
Management and Mentoring 10%.
Potential travel (for stakeholder engagement) 5%.

Essential:

Mechanical engineering qualification (BEng, BTech Eng, etc.) or similar with 5+ years experience in design.

Proficient and experienced in typical draughting software such as SOLIDWORKS.

Proficient and experienced in typical FEM/FEA software as well as fundamental understanding of principles, advantages and limitations of the use of these tools.

Desirable:

Design (and practical) experience to ideally including product design as well as underlying tool design such as metal forms, presses and punches, injection and extrusion moulds, etc.
Material science and material mechanics knowledge and experience, primarily in metals, polymers, timber and similar.

CTC R 35 000 - R50 000
