Product Developer

SUMMARY:

Our client is on the hunt for an experienced Product Development Officer to take on the challenge of planning product design, product development, product evaluation, and to influence the product roadmap in line with business strategy. In addition, the incumbent will take accountability for the Sampling process as well as analysing business opportunities brought to the company.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate evaluation, trial, and commercial/technical release of new products (raw material and construction).
• Lead the team to achieve the goal of providing market samples On Time and In Full (OTIF).
• Maintain systems (improve where required) for the Development and Sampling process.
• Research new local and international product innovations.
• Manage/supervise the Design, Development and Sampling departments.
• Accurately forecast the demand for current and new SKU’s.
• Manage the 5-year product and SKU strategy.
• Help guide top management with the CAPEX strategy.
• Contribute to the organizational strategy from a technical standpoint.
• Meet with the IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) on a monthly basis to ensure we are up to date with all BD innovations.
• Function as Lead designer for Group regarding products and marketing/brand.
• Arrange and attend monthly development meetings with top 10 customers to drive co-development strategy and to build customer confidence and relationships.
• Assist the sales team in pursuing new market opportunities.
• Provide technical support and training to sales team members and customers.
• Provide technical support to all production departments and HOD’s.
• Manage, drive and maintain the ISO process at the Company.
• Lead all marketing material projects.
• Establish and manage a continuous improvement project team. 

• Degree in Polymer & Textiles (or an equivalent content degree).
• Experience in MS Office, especially Excel (Intermediate-Expert Level).
• 5 years + experience in the field.
