Procurement Specialist

Summary

The individual in this position will be responsible for ensuring the effective procurement of items utilised within the Company’s projects. This will include the efficient sourcing of suppliers, products and goods at the most effective pricing whilst ensuring quality.The successful candidate must have at least 3 years procurement experience from within the Construction industry and have been involved in the procurement process for major construction tasks, from start to finish.

The individual will evaluate responses and applications from tenders issued, sample goods as well as ensure that the correct item as per specification is procured. This will include the evaluation of currently used specifications as well as what is happening within the industry and market to ensure that the most cost effective items are sourced and installed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Procurement ownership of all services and operational projects related purchasing for the Operations;
• Have a detailed understanding of local procurement services, purchase orders for the operations in scope;
• Manage the end to end procurement process and governance for Services, Project procurement;
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers (Operations) and suppliers;
• Support and engage with the Operations to facilitate effective procurement;
• Create and maintain accurate Request for Quotations (RFQs) ensuring timely responses from vendors;
• Collaborate with the Category Management peers to optimize contracted spend for services and assist with resolving supplier performance or contract issues;
• Manage the commercial aspects related to the repairable process, quote validation, BER implications and warranties. Knowledge Skills & Abilities • Safe operations

Understand design changes and material changes, finding suitable alternative materials to improve the build quality and pricing of projects.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification within the Procurement/ Supply chain field, Diploma and upwards.

EXPERIENCE: • 5+ years’ experience in commercial / supply environment of which 3 years within the Construction industry.

Proficient in Microsoft Office . A proven track record in understanding full tendering process and being able to package requests

Project Management Experience for 2+ years.
